Test and publish your first scenario

Although a scenario seems ready, it can be important to test before publishing. In this guide we explain how testing and publishing your training scenario works.

Testing

It is essential to thoroughly test your VR training scenario before launching it. Here are some effective methods to ensure your scenario functions optimally.

Walkthrough

Before filming, utilize the Walkthrough feature in Warp Studio to simulate your training scenario. This tool displays the initial scene with all interactive elements and scene details. As you click on each interactive element, the subsequent scene will appear. This feature also considers scoring, providing accurate feedback at the scenario's conclusion.

The walkthrough allows you to validate the correctness of questions and answers, and assess if the point allocation for each response corresponds to appropriate scoring and feedback, all before you shoot any 360 videos.

Testing controls

Once your scenario is filmed, it’s time to test it with actual users. To facilitate this, the Warp VR app provides a set of testing controls across different devices including VR headsets, smartphones, tablets, and desktops. These controls enable testers to efficiently navigate through the scenario:

  • Home button — Returns you to the start scene.
  • Previous button — Moves to the previous scene.
  • Search button — Allows you to find and jump to any scene using its number or title.
  • Elements button — Choose to view all elements as they would appear during training (normal) or display them immediately at the start of a scene (always on).
  • Scene button — Displays detailed information about the current scene, including its number, title, and description.
  • Score button — Shows a tally of all points accumulated up to that point.

Invitations to test a scenario can be extended to any Warp Studio member. However, trainees are not permitted to participate in scenario testing. By applying these methods, you can ensure that your VR training scenario is well-prepared and ready for publishing.

Publishing

After thoroughly testing and incorporating all necessary feedback, it's time to launch your VR training scenario. Upon publishing a scenario, Warp Studio does several automated pre-publishing checks before your scenario goes live:

  • Missing Links and Videos — Ensures that all scenes and endings are correctly connected and that necessary videos are in place.
  • Invalid Content — Checks for malfunctioning videos and incomplete scene information, ensuring technical soundness.

These checks are designed to catch common issues that could disrupt the training experience. Once these validations are complete, your scenario is processed and optimized for compatibility across all devices.

Choosing your distribution method

After passing the pre-publishing checks, decide how best to distribute your scenario based on your organization's needs:

  1. If you want to use an LMS, download SCORM or LTI packages from the integration page after you have published the scenario and upload them to your LMS. Then, assign the packages to trainees for access on any supported device. And you are done.
  2. If you don’t want to use an LMS, publish your scenario and create a group. Add the published scenario to the group. Then, you can decide if you will use shared VR headsets. If so, register shared VR headsets on the shared device page and add them to the group. If not, you can add trainees to the group on the trainee page. The trainees will receive an email from Warp Studio with instructions about how to play, and they can play on any device.
